What was a good answer for the piano tuner question? I'm guessing something about constructive and destructive interference going on with the sound waves from the tuning forks and you'd have to have a machine that would pick up sound extremely well. On average for a large population and a certain sound frequency, the waves would cancel out. But every once in a while, this would not be the case, like rolling 6s 100 times straight with dice. The frequency and intensity of those blips might give you a clue, with blips of net constructive interference being more rare in larger populations.

Also, there would be fewer tuning forks within a shorter radius, so if you could isolate certain amplitudes then you could see how the interference changes in sort of concentric rings moving out, and this could probably be used.

I think it's a bit legitimate of a question though. Even my professor said that at least for undergraduate studies you are here to learn how to learn. Your courses help with that.

Describes my college experience as well. I was on the opposite end, I got a liberal arts degree, nothing like STEM or mathematics. I was expecting to encounter some students who hated college and didn't want to be there. It was everyone though, I was so disillusioned. Professors, teacher's aids, faculty, the janitors. Everyone was just pissed off and didn't want to be there. The universities don't provide an experience anymore, you basically just buy a degree from them.
