I recently watched a youtube clip showing a guy on his boat calmly tell his wife that he saw a shark swim towards her and to swim to the boat now and get out of the water . She immediately did as he instructed. I was amazed at this and as I read the comments below it I think a guy actually summed it up nicely for what I was really thinking with my previous experiences with female logic in times of emergency.

Me : Heidi, start swimming for the boat.

Her: Long pause ."What ? "

Just swim for the boat right now.

Her: Why?

I saw a shark, get in the boat now !

Her : I don't see a shark . Where is it?

Fuck, just get in the boat now !

Her : WHY ARE YOU YELLING AT ME ???
