I saw it I live in the uk. It reminded me of the book freakanomics which had a chapter on 5he distribution of income within a drug dealing gang. It showed guy at top took the vast majority of the income and that a huge number of sub dealers believed that one day it would be them. Their belief was wrong due to the large gang size. For the average gang member they would be far better off working McDonald’s.

On top of that money spent was wasted on cars, watches and clothes to attract pussy and in doing so in 5e wrong neighbourhood, club, or bar could quickly get you killed. It also showed the dealers women living off the proceeds of crime but oblivious of how hard and how dangerous it was to earn the money and how they felt they could do what they felt like regardless of the consequences.

There was an interesting scene about a low level guy whose job was simply to drive out of town buying burner mobile phones. The top guys had calculated if they bought only two phones from each shop and used up their purchase credit they were untraceable. However the low level guys girlfriend insisted that if he was driving out of time she must come to check up on him. Then she started criticising him for only buying two phones at each shop when there were discounts on four. She kept on nagging him until he cut corners oblivious to the fact that if this was discovered the gang would face lengthy prison terms and he faced death.

It's an amazing show without the Feminist crap that has infected most present TV shows.

Dude! I'm happy that you've found this gem. The Wire is one of the most well written, acted, and directed telly series that I have ever seen. I re-watch it annually with some of my pals. I would HIGHLY recommend any other works that the series creator (David Simon) is/was involved with.

I live in baltimore. And they did a great job. Just know Baltimore has a lot of positive things going on besides what they show on the wire. Do not be scared of baltimore because of the wire. LOL

I watched it a couple of years ago. It's good shit once you get past the slow start (for me anyway). Will probably watch it again at some point.

The Shield is good, too.
