About me: Never married, no kids, in my 30's, civil servant, monk mode the last 8 months.

Thoughts I'd like opinions/advice on:

  1. I hate my job. I can theoretically retire in 5 years. If I do, I'm fairly certain I lose my health insurance plus I can't collect my pension for another 8 years after. I could stick it out 7 years, possibly keep the health insurance, and just not collect for 5 years. If I do my full time it will be about 13 more years. I do have deferred comp accounts to fall back on if need be. The health insurance loss is the biggest concern.

  2. I also hate my state. I'd like to move somewhere warmer and cheaper. I toss around the idea of a tiny house or van life but I'm not sure I can do it. I'm not looking for a ton of space. I'm currently in an 800 square foot condo that is roomy enough for my purposes.

  3. My hobbies are mainly video and tabletop games plus the painting and crafts that goes along with miniatures. I have a small circle of friends and a sibling I want to play with. However, all the friends are married and one just had a kid so I really don't see them often. The sibling and I are on different schedules so that doesn't really work out either. I'm considering selling off the tabletop stuff and just trying to be more minimalistic. I'm kind of struggling with the idea of letting go and also what to replace the hobby with. I do workout but I don't include that as a hobby because it's more for health than enjoyment.

That's about it. I could have asked this anywhere basically but it was important to me to get the MGTOW perspective.

TL;DR: Struggling with the idea of leaving a good job that I hate and state that sucks and living a more minimalistic lifestyle.
