Such a wonderful love story! The only one who wins is the woman when you think about it. Everyone other man loses out in the end.

You know you actually sparked a thought with me here. The Hero With a Thousand Faces posits that a traditional masculine hero follows a general pattern, which you can see here.

So I'd compare Titanic to Romeo and Juliet or any other great love story, and come up with the female version of that, which is probably:

The Call of Chad: when the new exciting guy arrives.->Act of Rebellion: In which everyone tells her this guy is bad news->Beginning of the Drama: She's causing drama, but not actively being punished for it. -> revelation/Abyss: The Drama hits full steam, so two guys start fighting over her.->Plausible Deniability: Something almost supernatural happens to prevent her from taking blame for her shitty actions.->Return to status quo: She still winds up with a beta buxx, but pines for Chad.

So lets plug Titanic into that:

The Call of Chad: Jack.-> Act of Rebellion-> She fucks Jack.->Beginning of the Drama: The other dude whose name escapes me gets pissed.->The Drama Hits Full Steam: The other guy and Jack are having a cock swinging contest over Rose.->Plausible Deniability: The boat sinks and she tosses Jack over the side with it.->Return to Status Quo: Grandma Rose is old, had a pretty easy life, and throws the diamond over the side instead of herself.

Next, lets try Romeo and Juliet:

The Call of Chad: Romeo.-> Act of Rebellion-> She fucks Romeo.->Beginning of the Drama: The two houses of Mantague and Capulet start to get pissed.->The Drama Hits Full Steam: Romeo kills Tybalt in the middle of the street.->Plausible Deniability: She fakes death, Romeo actually kills himself. She then actually kills himself.->Return to Status Quo: Somehow, both warring houses drop it to mourn the two lovers. Paris, as the bluepill, gets fuck all.

Seems to fit.
