Actually wish I could talk to her, because I've noticed the same thing. The penis has become weaponized.

Every time I hear some derogatory "suck my dick!" or comment about pink torpedo or "impaling" I cringe because as someone who actually has one of those, I don't much fancy myself as some kind of threat, and neither does it but, that's probably TMI.

We're taught from a VERY young age that it makes us evil, even before puberty if you ask a boy what sex is, you might get an answer such as "it's something boys aren't supposed to do to girls". This has extraordinary consequences on the self image.

I agree with her, for the most part, about rape too. The penalty shouldn't be so harsh. Harsher sentencing won't do anything to stop it, because it is not a rational crime. If a perpetrator had enough faculties at the time to process "If I do this, I will get 20 years" he wouldn't do it. He wouldn't do it if he had the faculties to process "If I do this, I will have to 200 hours of community service" either. In fact, if he had the faculties to process "If I do this, I won't enjoy it and neither will she", he would not do it.

Personally, I am, and have been of the view that we need to stop it from happening in the first place. Laws won't stop the damage from occurring. It is an issue of emotional health. She is spot on about abandonment being far more damaging.

These days, rape is romanticized. The popularity of shows such as "CSI Special victims unit" (among MANY others) demonstrates how way rape is used to "sell" advertisements to a female audience. For some reason, women seem to enjoy television shows depicting female rape victims, and shows featuring women discussing how they are rape victims.

Where I really don't follow is feminism. This has nothing to do with feminism. Are they so identified as "feminist" they forgot they could easily drop it and become human? Because what she said, seems remarkably human to me.
