Most women don't like stuff like video games, Star Wars, comics, Marvel films, etc etc, they "like them" because men like them and the women want male attention.

There are a lot of complaints about fem-centric storylines being foisted upon the loyal male fans. Unlike most people, I don't really think this is an "agenda" to turn everything into soy.

I think it's marketing directors with MBA's from Kellogg and Wharton with one dimensional thinking, in that they believe that expanding the consumer base is the only thing you can do. They assume they already have the male fans locked in, so are now trying to appeal to women.

In reality, what's happening is that Star Wars, etc, have alienated their core fan base of nerds, who are leaving their fandom of the franchises in droves, the resulting effect is that the women will also leave, because they never liked Star Wars to begin with. It's a pretty simple case of women wanting to hang out with the boys because the boys do cool shit, and if they're older, then they do it to attract male attention, subconsciously or not.

Star Wars is a fantastic example of this. This new era of films have been completely female. The problem is that Daisy and Felcia Hardy suck.

Daisy Ridley was never trained in the force, never went through any trials, just picked up a lightsaber and fought off Kylo Ren who was trained by a Sith Lord. Do people not understand how retarded that comes off? Even in the first Star Wars, Obi Wan holds off Vader so Luke can escape, because it's obvious that if Luke fights Vader at that point, he will be killed.

The reason for this is that human beings have a viscerally negative psychological reaction to women being hurt. Both men and women have this same reaction, but it's particularly strong in women. You could never have a scene like in Empire where Luke loses a fight badly, then gets his hand cut off. Women would freak out at that scene. Women hate watching other women be physically brutalized, which makes it pretty hard for them to lead action/fighting/adventure films properly.

Can you imagine the scene with Anakin fight Obi Wan on the lava planet, except with a woman? How do you think women viewers would react to Daisy jumping over her opponent, and getting both her legs and an arm chopped off, while slowly sliding towards the lava where her skin burns off.

IT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN. Women would LEAVE THE THEATER IN DISGUST, as well as never put money into the franchise again.

This is why marketing teams have it all wrong, and filmmakers are chasing realities that DON'T EXIST.

Women want male attention, that is literally they want and live for (by in large). They will do things to get it, such as pretend to like video games and Star Wars.
