I've been feeling shitty after the fallout from a one year relationship ending, but this sub just gives me a great reality check and is helping me to slowly feel better.
Maybe a small part of it is "misery loves company", but that's really not it. Moreso, it's just being reminded of the true nature of women, and how what happened to me was pretty much inevitable from the start.
This one was a single mom who was going through a divorce when I met her. She was totally enamored with me at first, which felt great, but I knew it wasn't real or any kind of deep feelings on her part (are women capable of truly deep affection?). I went through this same thing 10 years ago, and about the same thing happened, although that was 5 months, rather than 11.
I thought I was safely on the sidelines and not looking to date, but this one met me on a group hike and asked me out. And I am about a 6, on a good day, so that has never happened before. It was really intense at first, but only a couple of weeks after her divorce was finalized, she lost her feelings for me. Just incredibly mercurial.
It wasn't a total shock, but a major change in my life, and reading this sub every day just calms my mind and reminds me that it really isn't my fault what happened.
I really don't know if I want a true MGTOW lifestyle, long-term, but I'm looking forward to being single for a long while. The best times of my life are almost all when I'm single and the worst are definitely when I was in a toxic relationship.
But thank you to all of you, for all your posts and comments in this sub, every day.
