That was a great interview. I even agree on the anger part which I experience myself that way. On 2 points I have to add something:
Depression: As I currently see it, there is also a nutritional and therefore chemical problem we have with our modern human diet. I have read it from other people and experienced it on myself: Increasing fat intake (probably even protein) from animal products (because of saturated fat) makes us feel VERY good and therefore diminishes depression (of course I can't guaranty that it will work for everyone, but I think it should be the norm for most people). Maybe it's generally Ketosis that does this. He as a athlete surely has those benefits too (diet or at least more Ketosis from training) and therefore does not experience how much shittier lows you can have on the modern bad human diet.
External/externalize problems: Sometimes those exist and you can't fix it on the inside. I for e.g. suffer from chronic cluster headaches (=suicide headaches, suddenly developed a few years ago). In particular I want to mention that one trigger for my pain attacks is cigarette smoke (I never smoked myself, always cared about health). I get horrible pain attacks after inhaling second hand cigarette smoke for a few seconds. I can't possible avoid the numerous confrontations with smokers every day and even in my own apartment I am not safe, because smoke always finds a way in. Well my obvious internal problem solution would be to flee from society into into the desert/jungle/wherever, right?
Funny, I hope you can at least imagine my personal desperation with this issue.
EDIT: Hmm.. I see I was a bit furious with bashing smokers there. I'll cut that part down and therefore make it more readable. Still, I wish upon every cigarette smoker the same horrible chronic pain (second hand smoke actually seems to have been a part of getting this illness in the first place).
Do you mean you get horrible pain from withdrawal when you notice/inhale smoke around you? So this is actually forcing you to smoke forever to avoid pain? That's horrible too...
EDIT: Strange I only saw a part of your post there at first
