I've looked into it, and have heard some good arguments about it being flat. All I'm saying is I think the argument is justified, and doesn't cause any harm unless someone decides to get pissy about it. Which, unfortunately, is the case with this subject.

It's a psychological operation, pushed by people in the hope that it gains traction. Flat Earth being the most ludicrous thing imaginable. If you can get people to believe that then you can discredit any other issue/conspiracy they raise.
Notice how if you comment in MGTOW and then go off and comment in any another sub you are instantly discredited for being a believer of MGTOW?
Same thing with Flat Earth, it emerged a few years back on youtube to discredit people who were highlighting the real conspiracy affecting us today.

I saw a video a while back talking about a Russian operation to control the population by creating a constant state of confusion, so nobody would ever really know what was real and it would just kind of scramble their minds in the process. I'm starting to feel like that's not limited to just Russia, the US seems to be doing the same thing.

Possibly true. I was defending the flat earthers because the picture said they don't have common sense. Believing what you've been told your whole life doesn't qualify as common sense, so the flat earth investigation is totally justified, in my opinion. And a lot of those pictures from NASA honestly do look fake as fuck, not gonna lie.
