I'm only going with Nintendo because Microshit and Sony have both been taken over by greed. People bash hard against Microsoft about not having much in the way of games, but the same now can be said of Sony themselves too.

Nintendo isn't any different. They're just late to the party. You only have to look at the Nintendo online subscription where they'll make you pay to play online. It was free before too.
Sony has had a great year if we're being honest. They've been pushing out some really good exclusives like GoW and Spider-Man. Both of which don't have microtransactions and good story and gameplay. So IMO it's kinda tied between Nintendo and Sony because Nintendo has also been putting out really good games.
Make no mistake though, Nintendo is just as greedy as the other two.

I'm just now seeing that, but paying for online was always going to be a thing at some point, at least it's on the cheaper side of things.
I'm more against Sony though then I am Microsoft. It has to do with the Playstation 3 simple things they started doing to truly tick me off.

Sony is pretty anti-consumer, restricting their players from playing with other consoles on multiplayer, exclusive or timed exclusive titles for the purpose of getting more console sales rather than game sales on all platforms. They don’t give a shit about anybody, it’s all about results and numbers. Xbox Microsoft is far more pro-consumer given a lot of their choices as of recently, but they learned it’s hard to stay in the game without that exclusivity on their console. Also, xbox did start the online service subscription first. Also no consoles in this generation have true backwards compatibility outside of re-releases/ports

Console exclusives are not bad. That's the entire point of the free market. Without console exclusives there would only be one company with one console for all games (excluding handheld games).
To avoid this Monopoly, we NEED console exclusives to have competition between these two platforms.
Also about crossplay, it's not all good. There's no inbetween with Microsoft and Sony. Microsoft FORCES it's games to do crossplay which is really bad for competitive games where keyboard and mouse get a huge advantage over controller. There's no option to turn off crossplay. Also Microsoft does crossplay mainly to attempt to keep player bases of games alive. Not for the consumer.
Sony on the other hand also has issues because they don't even offer the option of crossplay.

Well the switch’s design would be a perfect example to innovation, development of a console that breaks from the norm of a box that plays discs and has 4 ports for your generic controller design.

Sure. But are Sony and Microsoft not trying to do that right now with VR? If there's no competition there wouldn't be any innovation in VR. The one company would stick to the generic box with a disc. Without exclusivity, there's no competition and without competition, there's no innovation.

Is the holo lens not a separate entity to the xbox? And from what I understand sony hasn’t put many resources on vr as of recently. I know that vive and rift are doing a lot of work on new products
But both the HoloLens and Xbox are by Microsoft and that's what I mean.

I don't think so. I think they're great for casual gamers. PC is better in every way but building a PC with only $400 (a new PlayStation 4 I think) won't give you all you can get from a PC. $400 won't unlock the PC's full potential. A that price it's just better to buy a console. Especially if you don't game a whole lot or you're not into competitive gaming. As long as its not a buggy system and the console works without many issues, I think it's not bad.
You get what you pay for when it comes to a console.

That's my point, but the bullshit that went down with Playstation Home I can't forgive them for that crap. It's exactly the reason I no longer plan to buy anymore NBA 2K games.
If you had NBA 2K16 when NBA2K18 came out, and the servers shut down all the shit in your game was gone.
Any customization stuff you had in your MyPlayer Career was gone it's like you don't even own the game, and then I was like "Well what else are they going to take away".

No idea why I'm being downvoted for this one, but it's whatever.
The online stuff I know there was nothing we could do about that, but these other practices changed on the fly. It literally showed me the company can literally do whatever the fuck it wants to do, and people just accept it.
I understand Nintendo and Xbox have their issues too, but I can only speak for Sony because I played PS3 majority of the time during that generation cycle.
