these examples are important...if there's evolutionary continuity across species, then it wouldn't be surprising at all to see certain patterns of male/female behavior cross-species...

except that in nature's case the male will just try again with another female 5 minutes down the stream... and do this all his reporductive life...

he will not gonna stick around to rise children, or pay for alimony or give a single fuck

and if she plays this game too often... her eggs will remain unfertilized, as male fishes just gang on other eggs and just spread away :D
