Ideally a UBI wouldn't be taken from an income tax. Income taxes are realy unnatural imo, because, if a person truly has a right to anything, it's the product of their own labor, right? Income taxes border on theft.

Instead, a UBI could be derived from taxes on the use of natural resources (water, air, land, oil, etc.) by businesses. This would be natural because natural resources, not created by humans, should properly be thought of as belonging to everyone, and so anyone who wants to use them ought to pay the collective for their use (or abuse, in the case of pollution). And this is actually somewhat the case in Alaska, I believe, as residents receive a (monthly?) check of a couple thousand just for living in a place where oil is mined.

And then there's always the extraordinary amount of money we spend on the military...
