No he's trying to justify it, anything to avoid ever blaming a woman. God these cucks and their cult like worship of a cthulhu hole.

It's still serving the right purpose : for whatever reason they cheat, they still cheat.

[–]DangZagnut6 points7 points8 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's an important takeaway, that they cheat no matter what.

And good for them, diseases are like pokemon right? Gotta catch them all?

Vice gets cheated on by feminism. It's like watching the Hindenburg go down.

If we were "evolutionarily programmed" to cheat, we would never have even come up with the thought that cheating was , somehow, wrong or noteworthy.

And yet...

Even the women themselves who cheat think it's scandalous, and ought not be treated as casual. They may feel shame over it, or reveal it as some sort of weapon or cherished secret. But one thing cheating is never classified as is mundane or unremarkable. It is always a big deal.

If this was so much of an evolutionary certainty, you'd expect that nobody would feel the need to hide this or get upset over it. But women do feel the need to hide this, and men do feel upset over it.

This leads me to believe that, unlike this cuck from Vice, we weren't "evolutionarily programmed to cheat"; we were programmed by nature to value loyalty.

A natural inclination that our world, today, has spared no expense to undermine.

On the contrary; I believe that what is normal to us has some sort of natural component. Otherwise, we never would have developed the norm.

Solitary animals, like snakes, tigers, and those sorts of creatures, have those instincts you mention as well. And as we, deep in our evolutionary history, had that sort of nature as well, it is easy to make the claim that this is part of our nature.

But if that was part of our nature, and nothing more, how can we explain why apes, in particular, developed a more complex social organization, if their instincts varied little from their solitary counterparts?

It is because our natures changed. And evidence of this changed nature are feelings of guilt or shame, when we throw over group cohesion for our own solitary self-interests.

See, what I find fascinating isn't that women, out of hypergamous motives, try to mate with the strongest alpha in her proximity. Even a tree shrew can be expected to do that.

What I find fascinating is that, even when she fulfills this imperative, she feels guilt over the deed. Despite feminism, erotica, divorce porn like Eat, Pray, Love, and articles in Vice proclaiming how natural it is to cheat, the women still feel guilt, because if they didn't feel it, they wouldn't be going to so many therapists, advice columnists, priests, mentors, and friends to tell them it's okay.

If hypergamy is so naturally advantageous, and so self-evidently instinctual, you would think women would never evolve guilt at all, because it interferes with her genetic interest. *And yet an entire, multibillion dollar industry exists to relieve herself of the guilt she feels when she has sex with these 'better men'."

Despite the culture doing everything in its power to tell women 'they deserve it' and applaud hypergamous affairs as empowering, there's still something, deep inside, that feels uneasy, despite all the rational arguments she makes to think it doesn't matter.

Here's another example. Why is it, when a woman goes to a party with a super rich man, and she is asked "why do you love this man so much?," she never says she loves his ability to make money? If hypergamy was the foundation on which this species was built, she would feel no shame in admitting the truth, and she would receive no scorn in simply explaining the truth. If she is going to a party with an exceedingly handsome man, why is it that she never gloats about his physique, but always "his sense of humor" or his "kindness"? If hypergamy was the foundation on which this species was built, she would think nothing of boasting about his physical superiority. Nor would she really mind so much if everybody wanted to ride on this man's dick; indeed, she would instinctively encourage it, since it makes the stock as a whole better.

But this isn't the kind of stock that made human beings collect in groups. The stock that made human beings collect in groups was an innate sense of loyalty that didn't sell out your members at the first sight of some stone age chad. And this might not have even been a function of the frontal lobes of decision-making as much as the development of the temporal lobes which govern memory. And somewhere, at some time, the instincts of human beings developed a prelinguistic sense that you don't throw away a lifetime of devoted care and sacrifice on the basis of some hindbrain urge.

This isn't a consequence of man's intelligence. Look at dogs. Dogs don't betray their owners because of the promise of better food. They may sneak away from their owners when in heat, but they come right on back, often with a guilty expression and demeanor. Even though the dogs have no language of morality, something inside of them knows they did wrong; they just couldn't help themselves.

Where did that guilty feeling come from? It came from nature as well. And this is the thing that makes us, instinctually, different than snakes, rodents, and nearly every solitary creature that slithers, crawls, leaps, files, and swims.

But why would women need to feel guilt to keep them with dominant alphas? I would think they'd want to be there because of hypergamy.

Besides, is it within the power of anybody, or any society, to command people to feel emotions? What people feel is a function of something unconscious and irrational--instinctual if you will--and not something that can be legislated away, or consciously turned on or off. If that were the case, we could just legislate depression away, and have people choose to be happy.

But emotions don't work that way. If they did, why couldn't anyone legislate hypergamy away, and have women decide not to feel it? Because that's not how feelings work.

See, I don't deny that hypergamy isn't an innate emotional disposition that women can't help but feel. But women have a lot of innate emotional dispositions they can't help but feel.

You, on the other hand, think that women only have one innate emotional disposition they can't help but feel (hypergamy), while all the rest of them are, apparently, learned or taught by society, and are unnatural and maladaptive.

Hypergamy works to explain a lot of female behavior. But I have found that hypergamy, by itself, doesn't explain a significant number of cases that seem to break our hypergamic models. Mary Kay Letourneau is the case that makes no sense in hypergamic terms, or in terms of social norms. Her case demonstrates that there's more going on in the instincts of women than hypergamy, by itself, can explain.

After all, woman is the second most complex thing in the universe. It is a mistake to assume she can be explained through hypergamy alone.

Women have a dual mating strategy. If anything they are evolved to appear somewhat loyal to a resource provider if necessary while seeking the best genes wherever they are found. Also, monogamy is largely a social technology and we have rules to enforce it.

Similarly, we are evolutionarily programmed to avoid starvation by any means necessary, which would include stealing food. However, this doesn't mean that a court of law would excuse it.

You could just as easily spin this as we had to come up with rules that stick in people's heads and all this culture in order to get people to not do what is natural but instead what is best for the current society.

It’s just our right brain. Eat enough snickers bars and eventually you want a 3 musketeers or maybe some skittles.
