I’m still a young guy (in college). Was fairly successful with women in the past. But I knew this girl was interested in me and I was interested in her. So to make sure I didn’t screw up my chances, I started reading pua material. Watched tons of vids, and read a couple books. All the material made tons of sense to me, and I knew that if I applied it, I’d be able to get with 90% of the women I was interested in. But the books also opened my eyes to the true female nature. I decided I’d rather live life for my happiness than changing myself for a few fucks. Been MGTOW ever since. I was lucky - MGTOW vids showed up in my recommendation when I was watching pua vids. Otherwise, I might be slaving over pussy right now. Also, I still sleep around, but the current institution of marriage just makes it impossible for me to ever be interested in marrying - unless she makes more than me

Because I spent my time pushing myself in school and later grad school, not much time for dating. Met a girl my first semester in my masters program and while nothing came of it, we formed a pretty close friendship. We remain friends for a couple years and then we start spending time together. Like, all the time together and because of that I start having super intense feelings for her (signals that she could easily have picked up on). I was smitten.

It was during this time that I opened up to her about how I was sexually assaulted by one of my friends in my apartment (attempted rape -- I woke up with her taking my pants off). As a result, I don't trust physical affection and tense up as a result. I told her this, and at the time she seemed genuinely concerned. I told her I couldn't really do much physically (at least at that time) because I still had MASSIVE trust issues.

Fast forward a couple months, my attraction is now full blown love at this point. She's made her way into my "inner circle". And while we are on the couch she leaned in closer to me and I went for it. I was now able to express physical affection without freaking the fuck out. She then graduates and then ghosts me for a couple months.

Naturally, I spiral into a depression that I hand't experiened since my dad died. I'm starving for her if that makes sense. So emotionally compromised that I couldn't think straight. She then contacts me out of the blue and asks if she can use me as a work reference. We don't talk much after that. A couple more months go by, and then she calls to let me know she's now dating someone that she previously bitched to be about...proclaiming that there wasn't a chance in hell she was attracted to him.

That was the mic drop. That was when everything came into focus. I knew if I continued talking with her I was going to self-destruct. I summed up every ounce of willpower I had and told her to never contact me again. For any reason. Immediately she begins to panic, asking why I would flush years of friendship down the drain and I very calmly told her that she fucking used me.

She used me financially. She used me socially. She used me emotionally. She used me occupationally. There is not a single area of her life that did not benefit as a result of me being in it. And when she finally got everything she needed and had extracted every possible resource from me, she ghosted. And the sad part is, that wasn't even the main reason I had to step away. She used intimate knowledge I had shared with her. Knowledge that I only tell a few people (the assault). I told her I can't trust affection as I can't separate when it is genuine as opposed to someone using me. She broke down my defenses and then used physical affection to only draw me in that much more. Never in my life would I have ever thought someone was capable of that. I've had issues with guy friends, some issues that resulted in intense arguing where everyone devolves to a degree a petty. BUT!!! And this is a big but, we never used information told to us in confidence as a weapon. It's too easy. It isn't appropriate. It's wrong. And she didn't give a flying fuck and destroyed me.

She was the straw that broke the camels back, and then I started evaluating all past relationships and I realized I kept making the same mistakes again and again. I projected onto them. My feelings for them were so much more than their feelings for me. I'm not even sure they did FEEL, or at least not in the way most guys feel in a relationship. That was the last time I talked to her and I'm going on three years. One year after she told me about her new BF, she tried contacting me again and I didn't respond. I had to save myself.

I'm not MGTOW as I barely have experience. But a regular mentioned this sub on a Karen Straughan presentation Q&A session in NY University.

I'm kind of refreshed by the more blatant, to the point, short, blunt masculine language here. There is misandry to be found, but rarely is it as intentionally malicious as "leave him honey, you deserve more!" that is common in 2X(also jesus christ that sub has so, so many women's bodily issues threads, I can't browse it comfortably at work!).

Sexless marriage (from a stay at home wife) started me on my path. Started researching "my wife gives me only duty sex once a quarter". Went to relationship advice (fucking blue pill useless sub) and my other married buddies which essentially advised I'm not entitled to sex and this is normal as women have a lesser sex drive yada yada. Didn't fully accept it, but somewhat believed these lies. The nagging voice in my head got me also looking up "my wife is in debt without my knowledge, what do I do?" Stumbled onto and started with Sandman. Graduated to Bar Bar and Stardusk and many other great founders. Got red pilled a little late (had young ones at the time). Then I started standing my ground and setting rules... Her reaction to me getting a spine? Divorce rape. It finished the job.

She had debts unknown to me and under Canadian provincial law, I was responsible for half of it at separation time. It wasn't college debt, "I" had already paid that off before, this was new debt after being married! Also 50% of all assets and CS.

I was actually drawn to TRP by looking at dating advice videos. I always found it weird that women went for assholes when they could have a stable, loyal man like myself. After discovering TRP, I found MGTOW and everything finally “clicked”. Since then I could not avoid the truth
