What pet should I get?

I've been thinking about it for a looong time and I decided. I'm gonna get a pet. But idk what pet. A dog, a cat, a hamster, a parrot or even a snake? What do you think it's best to get? I'm not really into putting a lot of effort to get a spider or a snake or even fish because it's tooo much work.. I thought about a hamster but still I'd like to here some advice.

In your case... I'd suggest a rock.

Seriously, a pet rock... low cost, low maintenance, low effort, essentially zero work required.

Plus, if (when) you get sick of it, have to move, or whatever ... you can just chuck it outside or along some road: no harm done, no living creatures injured (well at least so long as you don't hit some living creature when you chuck your pet rock away).

One more thing to add, a spider,snake,lizard, hamster will not cuddle with you or crawl into your bed and be close with you but a cat or a dog will.

If it's low effort that you're after, a cat is the least work. If you have a yard, a dog can also be low effort.

You shouldn’t get a pet if a fish is already to much work for you. Ok, a pet rock could be an option for you

I think you are bored, not that you want a pet. If you really wanted a pet, you'd know what pet you want, ergo, you don't want a pet.
If however you are serious, you need to research what environment is needed for each of these animals so they don't suffer stress. This requires a lot of work, and you should at least speak to 2 experts for different opinions before you make your purchase.

If you have a lot of spare time and want a pet that actually acts like it loves you back get a dog, If your a busy person with not a lot of free time, get one of the other less high-maintenance pets

Edit: EVERY pet takes effort, and don't get a pet if you don't have the time/energy/love to devote to it.

Skip the pet. I have a cat but, he became diabetic - many years ago - very expensive and tons of issues. I love him and will always be grateful for him but, it's a ton of work and the emotions regarding loss are huge and avoidable - don't do it.

Based on your post, I'd suggest something with an On/Off switch.

You don't strike me as someone who should have a living animal that depends on you for sustenance.

I have a few tarantulas, they are probably the least time consuming pets someone can get. They need new water every day but that’s it. Feed them 1 time every 1-2 weeks and they will be fine. Some even go into a months long fasting period. They are generally amazing to look at and feeding them is a real spectacle. But they are not interactive and handling is not recommended. they are really more room decoration like fish but they are a fucking badass looking room decoration.
