Here’s the thing.....when a relationship is working, there’s nothing better. But when it’s not, there’s nothing worse and 98% of them end up as a rolling dumpster fire. Mike Ditka said upon retiring from coaching football that the pain of losing far outweighed the thrill of winning. My experience has been similar with women. The bullshit and the hassle far outweighs the joy and satisfaction. And I am a pretty easy going guy who can tolerate a lot of BS so for me to be saying this, it’s a friggin problem.

I could not have said it better and I definitely would have tried to.

Hello.
I've haven't really had a bad relationship with women in my life. My love my mum and dad, I have no problem with female relatives, I've never had problem with women in social groups, work environments, in relationships, etc.
I don't hate women, but I do understand them.
I also understand how society works and how women are seen as being more important than men in this society.
So when it comes to long term relationships, cohabitation and marriage in regards to women.
I'll pass.
I know the laws in my country, I know the social rules, I know how things work in this cultural landscape.
One thing I don't do is gamble, and the more I learn, the less I want to gamble with my life when the stakes are so high.
I don't want to end up divorced, I don't want to have kids and then have them estranged from me, I don't want to risk being branded as some kind of monster because a girl I dated had a change of heart one day and decided that the consensual sex we had a few years back wasn't consensual any more. I don't want to be in a situation where I'm being abused by my girlfriend and the police and society in general will punish ME for being abused. I don't want to take any of these risks, because, frankly, the rewards aren't worth the risk any more.
When I was ignorant about how the world really worked, I blindly towed the line, but I broke away from that.
One day, long before I even heard of a thing called MGTOW, I decided to make a change in my life. I dumped my girlfriend, I quit my job, I went back to university and moved away from my old home town and I started on a new path.
Eventually, I graduated, got a great job, secured my career, got a nice car, a nice new house, satisfied all my hobbies, go out with friends, have fun and have all the time and money in the world to do all the things I ever wanted.
The one thing that I don't have in my life is a woman, and one day I realised, you know what, I'm better off. While the girlfriends I've had in the past weren't bad, they never added anything worthwhile to my life, they were just there, sucking up all of my time, effort and resources and giving nothing back.
When I looked around at others, I saw the same thing. A crowd of dissatisfied men who feel like they're trapped in relationships and have no way to escape. Men who can't do the things they want to do, they're chained down and aren't free. Men who openly tell me they're jealous of my freedom.
I also see other men who have it worse, they're not just stuck with mundane lives, they're stuck with abusive women who they can't escape from because if they try, they will be the ones who get punished for it.
If there ever was a time when having a long term relationship, cohabitating and marrying a woman was worth all that effort, then it looks like I missed that window by being born afterward.
I don't care if others choose to gamble with their lives and try to make things work with a woman, but for me, I think I'm better off enjoying the life I have now than trying to gamble it away to get a new one.
I don't think I have a crappy attitude toward women because I get along with them very well. I just choose not to get in a close relationship with any of them.
I treat women as I treat men. If that is a behaviour that is not to your approval, then that's fine. I don't have to dance to your tune, you don't have to dance to mine. Live and let live.

For the record, THIS. There is a coming misconception that mgtow of about disrespecting or hating women. Incorrect. It's about respecting and loving yourself FiRST, and educating yourself in regard to the very real fact that LTR with women isn't worth it, not today.
One of us may feel/think completely differently than me about politics or who knows what else, and that's ok. Those aren't the issues that bind us.
[–]slaidfh[S] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I get what you're saying and yeah I agree with it to some extent. I've got mates who are completely different now since they've been in a relationship, but tbh I think that's kinda the same as your mates getting pissed at you for having a job cause you've got less time. Sure it doesn't benefit you, but that's just life in my eyes.
[–]gantz_au0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Where did I say my mates get pissed at me for having a job that gives me less time? I never said that at all.
For the record, my job hours are actually extremely good and I have built in paid break periods that last 2 weeks to a month every so often.
My job and my lifestyle all benefit me greatly and I manage my friendships well. It's part of life that you don't get to hang out with your friends like you were kids, yes.
Hell, I don't even live anywhere near where most of my childhood friends live any more, but this is a separate issue entirely from what is being discussed in this subreddit.

You're young, dumb and full of cum. You'll learn the hard way eventually for yourself. Too bad.
[–]slaidfh[S] -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
damn brah just looking at that, maybe you should stop being so pissed at women like it's their fault they won't go out with you. Your attitude stinks XD
[–]stoopididoit3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
Thanks for proving me right.
[–]slaidfh[S] -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
lmfao you have no point bro, just tryna be a dick online. If that's your 'point', then congrats I guess you proved it to me, jheez do I feel like a complete idiot right now. At least I'll wake up tomorrow feeling better, but you'll be no closer to getting out your mum's basement

Are you done shining the light on your stupidity or are you going to comment again and show us some more?
[–]slaidfh[S] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
haha this guy is classic XD so I'm the stupid one for just asking a question yeah? Or no, that's not it, it's more you just assume I'm stupid because I respect women and you don't lmfao come on dude
[–]stoopididoit0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
No, the stupid was in your comment (which you have since deleted) and your assumptions. And for the record you got plenty of thoughtful replies, more than the troll that you are deserves.
haha I haven't deleted anything?

A subreddit of 40 thousand men with bad attitudes doesn't explain why 70-80% of divorces are initiated by women.
A subreddit of 40 thousand men with bad attitudes doesn't explain why it is legal for a woman to lie to a man about birth control and make the unilateral decision to have a child or not, forcing him to become a father against his will.
A subreddit of 40 thousand men with bad attitudes doesn't explain why men who have lost their fortunes are afforded no recalculation of alimony and child support payments, but are instead thrown in jail for contempt.
A subreddit of 40 thousand men with bad attitudes does not account for why women with a single, anonymous false accusation can destroy the professional life of any man while facing no repercussions.
Etc, etc.
The angle of MGTOW, if it is not clear at this point, is not one of personal grievances, but one concerning the zeitgeist of society. If it were simply a matter of bad experiences, one could could simply shrug one's shoulders and roll the die once more, but a brief glance at society tells a different story: any interaction with a woman can be enough to get you reamed in the ass but good.
No one here cares if you had a falling out with a woman and she made you cry. The concern is that the fallout can very easily mean the end of your life, and that for us the risk is too great. The juice is not worth the squeeze. You may feel differently, and if the risk is worthwhile to you then please have it. More women for you if I step away.

Separatism. And (hopefully) gender segregation.

I would really like them all on their own planet. I'll settle for all of them on their own continent without communicating with the rest of the world
[–]Flugzeug1130 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I always refer to this analogy when describing MGTOW :
Let's assume all women on earth suddenly become all female lions on the earth, and let's assume they're all in the wild, aka their natural habitat.
Now, you are pretty confident that if you approach any lions in the wild, they will kill you instantly, right? But surely there are special circumstances where this is not true.
Let's say out of all female lions on earth, 2% will not kill you on sight, but will actually be good to you instead, i.e. protect you or whatever. Now with that being said...who in their right mind is going to go on an African safari, and run into a pack of lions, hoping to interact with the 2%? Nobody thinking rationally will do that, since 98% of the time, they'll kill any human on sight.
From this, you can make a general (and safe) assumption: Interacting with lions is not a good idea because most of them are going to behave the same way.
Same logic applies to women. Obviously not every single woman on this planet fit into the category of AWALT (all women are like that). That is statistically impossible. However, nobody in their right mind should even bother going through all of the crap, since chances are, you will wind up getting screwed over in some way or another, and having your life ruined.
You have a 98% chance of losing if you play the game (the game referring to dating, marrying, having kids, etc.). So what can you deduct from that statement? Your safest and most rational option is simply not to play.
[–]0x123d0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
You were falsely accused, but chose not to learn from the experience? Was it your crappy attitude that caused it? Go ahead and marry the next one. Some guys just don't want to learn
[–]slaidfh[S] -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Yeah I totally learnt from it dude, that was like 3 years ago and I haven't had a proper relationship since. Not that it's because I'm over women, I still love going out and flirting and hooking up or whatever, but now I know not to just jump into a relationship with a chick because she'll have sex with me over and over again. I'm trying to get to know the girl before bedding them if I think they're relationship material. Sure I've missed out on sleeping with a few chicks cause I realized we weren't gonna work, but I still have fun in the process. Even if it's just one time we go out for a few drinks I'm still chill with it cause you know, no pressure or expectations. So I guess I agree with you guys in that I get it can be shit, but that doesn't mean it can't be fun too. After all, this world works on spectrums right, not one thing or the other?
[–]0x123d0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
this world works on spectrums
But there are patterns and laws in this universe, which also apply to the human mind. Judging by your other comments, you're very young (a college kid at best). I'd tell you to listen to your elders, but kids always insist on learning the hard way. Hope it won't be too harsh.
[–]slaidfh[S] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Pretty close guess, I'm 22 and graduated last year, so yeah you're pretty much right, I've only really had 1 'real' relationship, but at this point I dunno if I'd even count that one either. But what're you getting on in your first line? Cause, like I said, I'm just looking to find out the opinions of others.

[–]mthrowaway520 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Low quality. Instead of spending 20 minutes reading posts, you just come in here insulting us.
Here, I'll type slower for you so you understand.
We want nothing to do with women. Our exact reasons and degree may differ, but we have all come to that conclusion.
[–]Xein0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
We know some men are horrible.. anyone who says otherwise is straight up delusional. There are men that cheat on their wives, abuse women, and are deadbeat fathers. But we already have a TON of places to discuss those issues. You will find accounts of terrible men all across Reddit. This sub is about pointing out the terrible behaviors that we see in women and our reasoning for opting out of relationships/marriage.
It's a serious fallacy to think that our "attitudes" are the reason we've had bad experiences or observed bad behavior. Consider that many of our attitudes were shaped by experiences with women. A lot of us started out with positive attitudes and adjusted them in response to things that happened to us.
Personally, I do think some shit gets exaggerated around here. Obviously there are women that are good people and relationships that are healthy, successful, and beneficial to both parties. Again, I think you have to be delusional to doubt such things. But we are talking a lot about trends and statistics here... and they don't look good. We have made the determination that relationships and marriage carry significant risks that aren't worth the possible benefits. MGTOW is obviously not for everyone and the whole point of it is that men are free to make this decision for themselves.
[–]mgtowmaniac0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
I understand your confusion. Allot of what is written here sounds like plain woman hating, but that is merely a side affect. The real reason for mgtow is not woman directly, they are simply doing what woman are biologically programmed to do. It is our gynocentric society and the men (simps) that uphold it that are the real problem. Woman only have the power that men have given them, and men have given them ALL of the power. It is simply too dangerous to associate with woman any longer. A man has ZERO rights when it comes to woman and relationships. You don't have to look far to see the horrible effects of divorce on men. The false accusations of abuse, rape, or assault, the psychological abuse of men, the never ending media attack and brainwashing of men and boys, and on and on it goes getting worse every day. MGTOW are men who have awakened to these facts and are no longer going to allow themselves to be abused by this gynocentric society. It is really nothing more than self preservation. If you are still willing to roll the dice with your life and freedom, good luck to you. I am not. I've learned the hard way and was lucky enough to survive. Many men do not survive, many more are completely destroyed financially and psychologically. Many will have to suffer at the hands of our system before they will learn, I hope you don't. It is extremely difficult to go against our basic instinct to breed. It is this frustration that causes many of us to attack female nature, but that is just a therapeutic activity that builds camaraderie and a kind of support system for mgtow's.
