It's been about 8 weeks since she moved out. End of a years long relationship that should've ended 5 years ago. When she first left it felt like my world was spinning. I had built my life around supporting hers and it had been forever since I had come home from work to an unoccupied house. I had no routine, and the house was eerily quiet.

As that quiet became the norm, my ever-present anxiety began to fade. I had nobody to consider when I made evening plans. I began running after work and the sense of freedom and self-direction became intoxicating! I can go anywhere, do anything. My finances - constantly stretched with her frequent spending sprees on my paycheck - I can't believe how fast the account has built back up!

Right now, it's the end of a relaxing weekend. I just got back from a long scenic run, enjoying the warm sun and early spring cool air. The warm temperature is holding up tonight with a bit of a cool gentle breeze - perfect night for a small backyard campfire. That's where I'm at, cool drink in one hand, joint in the other. Listening to early evening bird calls and crackling wood. Freedom.
