To be fair, this isn't a re-engineering he talks about. This is a method of geopolitical war.

Bezmenov talks about demoralization as a way to get institutions to stop functioning. It isn't like the KGB believes this shit, but it is useful to promote. Once institutions can no longer function, the nation collapses into civil war. Then a country comes in, kills all the useful idiots, then "re-normalizes" the country by restoring order, and restoring function to the institutions.

Always remember the absurdity of what demoralizers believe. They believe they can re-engineer society, but their perceptions of what reality can allow are severely compromised. That is why the KGB had kill lists on all the major activists in the USA; they will be the first ones who will fight communism in practice. "Hardcore conservative media," however, isn't so naiive, which is why the KGB tends to look for allies there, rather than the SJW press.
