Ana Kasparian tells a story three times of a mid-teen boy slapping her ass, which is assault, and her kicking him until he begged for mercy.

In the first two telling in the story, she tells the truth that she (rightfully) was enraged by the adolescent's actions. She made have gone too far kicking him when he was down, significantly beyond defense, but it's understandable. I have no problem with the first two versions of the story, which are completely consistent.

In the third telling, she implies that it was an adult, a big man, and that she was terrified rather than enraged and that she's anti-violence, which absolutely was not true during this incident. Yes, she did not outright state it was a big guy, but her intent was crystal clear. She wanted the audience to imagine a big bouncer type 20-30 year-old man rather than a 14 to 16 year old teen.

Some MRAs stated that it was wrong for her to keep kicking the adolescent when he was down, begging her to stop, and clearly not a threat. And I'd agree, but I'd also am understanding that she was rightfully furious at this punk. So it's a very forgivable offense.

What is not so easy to forgive is completely changing the threat, fear, and image of the adolescent to one of a hulking and dangerous man. None of this mitigates how wrong the teen was for sexually assaulting her or the seriousness of that. However, it does show that even when there is a grain of truth, women will lie, especially when they get older and when such lies become more socially acceptable. A half truth is the worse kind of lie.

Worst still, she maligns the MRA for "attacking her" for defending herself. The video and Kasparian do not quote the MRAs, but whatever they did say was in response to one or both of the two original tellings of the story. It is quite reasonable to say that Kasparian went too far in kicking the boy relentlessly. Although I agree as it violates the rule of using the least violence necessary for defense, I would not hold it against Kasparian because the teen's assault on her could drive a reasonable person into a rage. However, even if the MRAs do hold that against Kasparian, it's not outlandish to do so.

How many other women lie while avoiding saying anything that can be outright disproved when telling stories of victimhood? It's probably more often than not, and that destroys all trust in women.
