So I am a woman who lives in a third world country (Morocco to be specific), and I am concerned about how feminism is taking a strong hold in my country and starting to affect some men.

I don't mind feminism in my country if it helps woman in backwards rural areas, but it's affecting the urban women more...

We already have men who struggle to get married here, since we have very high requirements for them: he needs to have a job, be independent from his parents, have a car, have a house... And let's not forget, since this is a muslim country, the man has to give the woman a big amount of money before marriage, "sedak". It is supposed to depend on what he can afford to spend, like 10 000DH(~1 000$), but some women here take it to 300 000DH(30 000$), which is just bullshit... And let's not forget some injustices in courts.

I started seeing more women here follow this "strong independent woman who doesn't need a man" trend or whatever... I'll admit, I used to think that way too, I thought that I don't need a man in my life. But I realized that it's just stupid. I do need a man in my life, men and women complement each other... I used to be afraid of getting married but now I just want to get married in my mid twenties 😂.

Like my Islamic Education teacher once said, "some people are trying to create a war between the two genders". And it is sad that this is the world we live in now. I hope that the women in my country realize that they shouldn't follow everything the west does because it's the west, instead think logically for a moment.

This is just why I would NEVER call myself a feminist, but an egalitarian. Because I believe that both genders can have equal rights, but I don't believe that they are "equal". Men and women are different, and difference is what makes us unique. I fully understand the need for MGTOW.

Sorry about the rant lol, just wanted to get things off my chest! I am new to this community, so I don't know if this is something normally posted here...
