I am watching an anime called 'The Daily Lives of Highschool Boys'.
It is a lot of fun. It is pitched as a show about boys at an all boys school but a lot of the comedy is just about gender differences, with most of the shorts so far involving either sisters, or girls on the street, or interactions with the all girls school that is nearby. Its funny stuff, but it makes me wonder, are we ever going to see something like this in America again?
'The New Girl' was pitched as 'chicks and dicks', a gender comedy about a girl who has to live with a bunch of boys, but that already feels outdated by today's norms where we are insisting men and women are the same and showing any differences, particularly for comedy, is now really offensive.
Like were seeing YouTubers deleting their videos with titles like 'what guys do in the shower' that just make jokes about trends in each gender. Worse, its not even just about how men or women feel anymore, but about demiboys and agenders and all that nonsense.
will we ever get pure gender interactions again?
