Maybe, another approach would be the individual. I'm pointing to Nietzsche, specifically Slave and Master morality. Most people have a slave morality, in short letting life happen to them and forming resentment towards the more successful, so It would be not too far fetched that they would want to form some kind of collectivism, e.g. Communism.

But I could be wrong and it has a wholly different approach.

I read a book in russian on how Patriarchy is just cover for the hidden Matriarchy which never seized to rule men. Quite persuasive. It all has to do with the psychology of men.

You want to bring it back? I mean I dont think it ever left. The USSR had pretty much the same situation america did in the 50's where traditional gender roles came back so socialism has never ended Patriarchy.
