I haven't been in your position.

However, I do hire and fire people. I'm far less concerned about their teeth than whether they show up on time and get their shit done. It's much more likely they had to cut X number of people and picked the most expensive ones.

With some state unemployment medical plans you can get a free one-off denture, look into it.

Alternatively when you are employed again realise that dental tourism is a thing.
