Beware of your hidden desires, as they can destroy you.

I grew up in a very broken home; longed for the perfect family I never got to have.

Anyway, early 30's, met HER- the "perfect mom and wife".

Whirlwind courtship, married, kids, mortgage.

I'd done it- created the happy home I'd never had as a child..

Until!

"I want a divorce".

Reasons, gentlemen, reasons.

Blindsided? I was Wile E. Coyote after the Mack truck.

EVERYTHING I lived for- gone. I will never forget my kids faces- the ONE thing we'd vowed we'd never do to them- she did.

I went through all the stages of grief- Thank God I had friends, a job, and kids who needed SOMEONE to be the adult. How many nights, alone, drunk, crying, listening to "The Show Must Go On" by Queen. I was a mess, but I kept going. I knew that agony would fade, in time.

Now, years later, I see that my drive for The White Picket Fence blinded me to reality.

So, you young men- when a likely woman presents herself, and you start thinking she's the One.

STOP.

Examine YOUR motives, and hers.

Remember, women have NO honor- they will NOT keep their promises, since, in their minds, if their FEELINGS change, their OBLIGATIONS no longer apply. You cannot enter a LEGAL contract with such a person!

Also, remember- they are hive-minded; they are always a smartphone app away from a worldwide sorority of whispering witches, who will ALWAYS offer them poisoned apples.

Hypergamy is now worldwide, gentlemen. You'll NEVER be "The Best".

Thus, no matter what, it's a game you CANNOT win.

Such is the curse of our age- accept it, and move on. Reality cares not for your romantic dreams.

(And- for those wondering, or going through a divorce- you WILL make it through your divorce, IF you think LONG-TERM. )

Dignity, Aggressive legal defense, and always with the knowledge that, when the kids grow up, they will finally understand what happened.

(If she abandons principle and morality, don't reciprocate. We are men- we honor our morals in the breach, where it counts.)

Remember, as Gracian says-

"Time and I, can take on any two".

Live YOUR life, as YOU dream it to be.

On YOUR terms.

All the best, gentlemen.

Begin.
