Crosspost "My boyfriend has a restraining against him from his child’s mother, can he get violated if I contacted her?" from /r/legaladvice:

We are from Massachusetts. Okay so here’s what’s going on. My boyfriend has a restraining order against him. A couple days ago I contacted her to find a couple things about him and while she was being polite and friendly, he just got served with papers for third party contact but he didn’t actually do anything. Can he get sent back to jail for violating his suspended sentence and the restraining because of third party contact? I should mention that he hasn’t had contact with her in over a year, he’s been out of jail for about seven or eight months now and hasn’t violated anything. I think I may have gotten him in trouble because of third party contact. What should he and I do about this?

Edit: I am aware that I shouldn’t have let my insecurities get in the way of things. I think I may have just jeopardized my boyfriends freedom and I literally feel like the worst person in the world.
