You didn't say/mention what you want when it comes to the child and the paperwork you have already filed.

I'm gonna guess that there is a pretty good chance that you may be able to do something about this at your court date, because in most cases you would be going to court to say that this is what you want. Then this would likely end up becoming something that would effectively be an adoption.

Or on the other hand, if you are not wanting to be "on the hook" for child support and the like, this is where you say that you no longer want to do what the two of you filed.

If you don't want to be on the hook or the child's father, you would likely have to go to court to have/get your name removed from birth certificates and to absolve you of/for any financial responsibility.

No mention of how you came to be the "father" of a child that is not biologically yours, and if that is important to you.

Just keep in mind that if you do go to court and then take responsibility for the child, then understand that you should consider it to be a permanent thing, no take backs later. The courts tend to look dimly at take backs and do overs when it comes to cases like this. It could possibly be able to happen if you didn't know that the child was not yours.

I tried to answer both possible outcomes/choices since you didn't make it clear as to what you wanted to do.

Me personally, I would go for the "not on the hook" legally option, that way you would be free to do/provide for the child as you see fit, but wouldn't be on the hook for any thing to include any assistance that the child gets from the state, your actual legal rights may already be further limited by the fact that you never married, but that's just my guess as a lay person.

Bottom line, instead of asking Reddit, you really should be consulting with a lawyer, maybe one who specializes in child custody and/or adoption which I would think would know the most about the stuff you are dealing with.
