On the one hand, he's right about Donna Hylton... on the other hand, what the hell is with the religious overtones?

"... what the hell is with the religious overtones?"

Since when are Christians required to avoid "religious overtones"?

In case you haven't noticed, feminists HATE Christianity.

You know who else hates Christianity? Marxists and Muslims.

While I suppose that there aren't many Christians on Reddit, there are still a whole lot of Christians in America, and guess what?

CHRISTIANS VOTE.

You're welcome.

Claiming that a movement is bigoted against your religion is one thing. Calling them Satanic is another.

the feminists of the Women’s March were accurately described by Catholic journalist Michael Voris as satanic:

The sounds you heard in the streets of D.C. on Saturday are echoes of the sounds the damned will hear in Hell — hate, rage, anger, guilt, shame. This was not a women’s march; it was a march for lesbianism and mothers who murdered their children and needed a way to vent their shame and guilt. That there were so many only speaks to the depth that the diabolical has reached into life on this earth. The women who marched hate God and cannot tolerate their consciences.

So... I have a problem with this just on the basis of the vitriol directed towards abortion (preventing a fetus from feeding off your goddamn flesh and blood = "murdering children" apparently), but aside from that, this asshole put "lesbianism" on the same category as murdering children.

You know why I don't like Islam very much? Because of shit like throwing homosexuals off buildings, and because of genuine opposition to women's human rights. The fellow the article just quoted represents the fringe of Christianity which holds the same evil beliefs, and I oppose them just as strongly.

Apart from that, this article offers very little substance. Half of it is just the author throwing every insult available at Feminism. They're godless commie hippy babykillers who hate everything good and American. Great.

I've said regarding anti-Trump protestors, etc. that if you want to criticize him, do so on his merits instead of just spewing vitriol, and the same principle should apply to this.

They're godless commie hippy babykillers who hate everything good and American.

Yes, they are. And what's your point? Are you pro-commie?

[–]HotDealsInTexas 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

aahahaha. So, the only way you can think of of addressing my criticism is to throw out an ad hominem accusation. You know, in exactly the same way Feminists throw out accusations of Misogyny.

But let's actually address this. I am not pro-Communism. Communism is an ideology in which all property is publicly owned, there is no money, and there is somehow magically no state despite the fact that a massive central government is required to actually distribute resources in a moneyless society. It is a ridiculous, naive, unimplementable fairy tale utopia at best, and IMO the idea of having ALL property be communal is an affront to human dignity.

However, I suspect that you are using "commie" as a slur for any vaguely left-wing economic idea you disagree with, possibly including shit like labor safety laws and a minimum wage. So, since I support a more European-like economic system where higher taxes with a progressive bracket system are used to maintain an extensive social safety net, I'm going to go ahead and say that by your definition, I am "pro-commie."

[–]rsmccain 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

an ad hominem accusation . . . any vaguely left-wing economic idea you disagree with

I disagree with all left-wing economic ideas, vague and otherwise.

Is such disagreement not permitted? Again, what's your point?

[–]HotDealsInTexas 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Disagreement is fine. Example: I believe it is fundamentally immoral for people working full-time in jobs which are necessary to the functioning of the economy to not be paid a wage they can survive on. Whether society chooses to enforce this via a minimum wage, a UBI, or some other means, we shouldn't just let people who are working their asses off in a job there's demand for (e.g. picking vegetables) starve or otherwise be unable to meet basic needs.

Now, here's what that statement would sound like if I had used the kind of rhetoric you were using:

"Conservatards are economic terrorists who hate poor people and want to starve children to line the pockets of the Bourgeois! Everything about them is inhuman and unAmerican! Oh, and they're all racist too!"

(reply objecting to slurs, buzzwords, and hyperbolic language)

"What are you, some kind of Nazi?"

The factory had a hard time to keep up with the making of these shirts given the large quantity of cotton required to accommodate the average size of its supporters.

Theres extremeism in every movement but feminism is not a hate movement. Supporting mens rights doesn't mean you have to protest womans rights. Problems on both sides guys.
