That's not even an exaggeration, sadly. You just need to look at how they revere Taylor Swift. She made a song about how she'd be taken more seriously and how her life would be better if she were a man... despite being a multi-millionaire pop singer where being a man in her field would've made her much less successful based on her songs, and Twitter ate it up.
She even tried calling out a Netflix show for making a joke about how many exes she has, saying they were 'putting down women', and again a lot of Twitter was acting like that was some serious grievance.
