I do not want to name the person who posted this comment i will discuss here, i pulled it because it is representative of many similar comments i have seen over the last few years, my remarks will be general, for all men, and use his example only as a case in point.
There is a hidden, unstated assumption here, the assumption that this kind of experience is abnormal, it is a 'defense mechanism', he enacted it 'turned it on' and he should turn it off.
As we are all aware, the field of psychology has been thoroughly perverted by feminism and wall street, these people are now the gender police where they are not a marketing and distribution apparatus of the pharmacological industry.
We are aware that men suffer. We are aware that men commit suicide at a horrific rate. Sometimes, we look to psychology to tell us why, to offer solutions or at least hope.
Increasingly psychology has, aside from a referral to psychiatry for medication, only one answer to give: Experience emotions as a woman does, and talk about them as women do, cry like women cry and experience the catharsis they experience, let your feelings out in that way and you will feel better.
This is not an evidence based approach, and it has a clear prior improbability because it is not the case that before this 'crisis of masculinity' that has claimed so many lives men behaved in the recommended way. There is no evidence that in times and cultures where suicide and depression among men was much less common, the men were open and expressive of this kind of emotion.
there is no reason to believe that the person commenting above is anything other than a normal healthy man, made to feel defective or inadequate by the constant pressure to be something other than what he is, a man. The constant messaging about what men should be and the heartless devaluation of what men are.
It's ok. You're ok. Let it happen. It's supposed to happen. You are not 'dead inside' you have simply matured beyond such childish emotionality.
As a man matures he becomes experienced in himself, he recognizes a distinction between things he can or should try to change, and things that are outside of his control, he gains perspective, a sense of scale.
Things that he can or should change, he sees as problems, he plots and plans, he sets goals, he works to make these changes.
Things that are outside of his control or that he does not see as problems he simply accepts. These are the constraints he must operate within, they are features of the world. He takes them into account, he finds ways to work with or around them.
For wisdom there is no easy answer, you may find wisdom in some church or school, generally it requires age and experience.

TLDR: Men aren't broken women. Stop convincing us we are.

i mean, at no point in the above did i say that, it is not a valid message to take from what i did write. Not that it's bad advice, just not what i said.

Bonus points to the people in this thread actually defending child pornography. That's usually how you know that a thread is ready to be pulled.
I haven't seen any comments like that.
