I don't think they fared badly. They didn't want to date a very short man even if he was rich and successful, the only one who changed her mind was on him being lovely with children. What more do we want from a person?

I too wouldn't date a very short woman, taking into account the median height differences between males and females, if she reminded me of a teen, because I wouldn't date teens. I wouldn't change my mind if she was a successful businesswoman, if I couldn't bring me to be attracted by her

Instead, heightism of nowadays is all about the 6ft threshold, which is not even a beauty standard, but a features standard, and it's well above male average height.

Really shows that despite what so many women claim, many women are shallow, narcissistic, and materialistsic.
