Hey this is a genuine question:

What is the wage gap to you?

So I’ve argued with a few people from this group and every time I’ve mentioned the wage gap they say it isn’t real and that I’m “uneducated”.

So the wage gap is the difference in the pay between women and men.

I think there’s a BIG misconception; the wage gap isn’t based off all jobs of men and women in general. The wage gap is based off men and women doing the same job with the same experience and effort.

The top 10 richest people are men so obviously there would be a wage gap in general men and women..

The wage gap is based off the same job with the same experiences and etc. The causes are often just general discrimination and occupational segregation.

I don’t quite understand why most of you are saying that it’s a myth or it isn’t real because it’s often very common is workplaces and there’s a bunch of statistics that prove this.
