Crosspost "Why nobody wants to marry young? (even if they can afford it)" from /r/MuslimMarriage:

I hardly see this problem being mentioned, and it's been in mind for a while now.

Nowadays in most of our Muslim communities you see that youth marriages are almost universally frowned upon, it became an unspoken rule to never think about marriage until you reach +27 years old, sometimes even more. They say : Marry when you're mature, when you got what needs to be had. When you're successful in everything in your life, have reached your dreams, done everything. THEN! Marry and settle down because if you marry early! .. You gonna regret it for the rest of your life!, you doomed yourself, your life has been sacrificed. Some even have very strong rejection to it to the point of even call it a crime of some sort and that 20 years people are kids. Shouldn't go near marriage.

This baffles me!, because all this is opposite to Islam and what our prophet (ﷺ) have called for and what our Salaf have followed after him. There are many proofs I picked this two famous Hadiths:

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said to us, "O young men, those of you who can support a wife should marry, for it (marriage) controls the gaze and preserves one from immorality. And whoever cannot (marry) should fast, for it is a means of reducing the sexual desire." [Agreed upon]. (Sahih al Bukhari)

and

Messenger of Allah said: "If there comes to you one with whose character and religious commitment you are pleased, then marry (your daughter or female relative under your care) to him, for if you do not do that there will be Fitnah in the land and widespread corruption.'" (Sahih Tirmidi)

I feel that most people are unaware or willingly ignore the dangers of delaying marriage (when being able to). I mean just think about it, In those times! And with nothing in terms of the immortality and nudity we see nowadays everywhere our Prophet ﷺ INSISTED on youth to marry quickly once they can afford it! Shouldn't we be MORE insisting in our times?! Nope the opposite sadly.

It's mental how backwards we've become, so out of touch with our Deen and its values. The not ready excuse is just a wrong thought forced by society that follow blindly the west.

Many don't realize that in the non-Muslim communities people address their urges in Haram and from a very early age too, in some places those who reach 18 years old and still a virgin are considered sick and in need of treatment. Yet in our Muslim communities we expect people to go till 30 - 35 or 40 and still stay a virgin! It's mad! The injustice and the absurdity of it, Yet most parents (especially) still think it's completely natural and that's how it should be! May Allah guide them and guide us all.

They say wait till you're mature, you're still young for marriage and commitment, go live life then settle down, you'll regret Marring young, you must achieve your dreams first then think about it, all claims we heard over and over, yet they're all forgetting something important, you're not a rock or a tree you're a human! Fina will get you without protection. It'll ruin you, corrupt you

that's exactly what's happening now

Divorce is in all-time high yet the majority of new couples supposed to be educated and mature?! How come?

While delaying the Halal till you're supposedly mature, You start to lose the path, the natural attraction build into you is in all-time high, and when it finds no way to go on Halal it naturally goes to Haram, pornography addiction, Haram relationships, phone calls every night with strangers, love stories, breaks up... The result :

Instead of a mature and ready for marriage individuals (apart from few that survived) you got tired people each with heavy baggage on their backs, nothing feels right to them anymore, Halal is simply too boring and non-adventurous, no satisfaction, disappointment, no fulfillment or engagement, completely burned out, sometimes even corrupt to the point of no return after years of Harm what do you expect, then Finally, you divorce.

In the past they used to fear Haram as if they're been thrown into a fire pit, nowadays we're cool with it as long as it's not marriage?!

May Allah guide us all and lead us to the right path.
