Sure, that could be argued... But in doing so, wouldn't you then be setting up a straw-man fallacy? After all, that is not my argument.

Yet, what makes you differentiate the woman in the meme as "SJW" rather than "Progressive"?

I don't see any progressives lumping all conservatives in with the actions of WBC.

I hope you now realize, this is a repeat of the fallacy committed in your previous comment.

As a progressive, I believe in things like expanding education, or broadening social security without making cuts to other forms of spending, we can do this by expanding the Social Security tax cap which is currently ~$150,000.

Now, you're changing the subject... I'll bite.

So, you hope to pay for expanded education? In what way? This is vague and doesn't address the current failing system's problems, yet calls for an expansion of said system, necessarily resulting in the expansion of the same problems inherent in the system today.

Likewise, your suggestion for Social Security reform is not well thought out, and amounts to "robbing Paul to pay Peter".

But, I digress... As a progressive, do you care about your race?

I'll come back to your first points, but I want to discuss the Paul to Peter thing. Our Social Security tax cap is around $150,000, so anybody that makes <or= 150,000 pays a SS tax on 100% of their income. Anybody making more than that (granted, a much smaller population of the country) is paying only a percentage of what they could be putting into our SS system. Millionares and billionaires are not paying 6.2% tax on let's say $10,000,000 a year, they're paying 6.2% on ~150,000. Tax breaks like that are ridiculous to professionals like teachers, who pay taxes on 100% of their income.

I wasn't speaking exclusively about this comic, but SJW's are commonly lumped in with the left because they may express some leftist opinions. Same with antifa protestors. Everything they represent goes against what the left stands for (silencing opinions and destroying shit because your opponent won).

About the education thing, I don't know yet. I'm currently studying Political Science and intend to move into law, then eventually help to make things like education and healthcare affordable for Americans.

I knew I shouldn't have bitten... You want to have an argument about something completely different here. Particularly, an argument regarding tax-rates on various classes in America. This warrants an entirely new thread, as it is foundational to the economic-platforms of several political-ideologies. And, I'm not really in the mood for a lengthy economics discussion, aimed at navigating you through all the nuances and necessities for high vs. low taxes required of each political-ideology.

That's the thing... A "weak-analogy" does not require that you confirm or deny my original statement. It is a fallacy, because it seeks to draw an illusory parallel between the two arguments. And in failing to do so, it also failed at "putting us on the same page".

Eh, I'd say that's pretty much the left now... If you fancy yourself more of a "classical-liberal", great. However, most in that boat have realized classical-liberalism, in this era, has become conservatism. On the other hands, the left has drifted further into Marxism, communism and anarchy.
