There was a case a few years back where a rapist and his victim were given joint custody of the resultant child due to the judge not being given information regarding their situation - she was asking for child support. It was immediately reversed, the situation made right, judge was mortified. For almost a year the judge was harassed, and people wanted him not only removed from the bench, but disbarred. Hell, they wanted him burned at the stake.
