My mum was a housewife for all of 35 years, including some army time. She raised four kids, and put that on her CV. She never had much confidence because dad left her, and our stepdad turned into an abusive gas lighter. One day she decided to apply for a supermarket, and on her CV (resume) put that she was a mum of four, and all the planning that entailed. She's now a senior manager and kicked my stepdad to the curb. She makes me so proud.

This stolen valor bullshit on the other hand absolutely infuriates me. It's not hard getting dicked by Jody. That is not an accomplishment.

What else is she supposed to put, as her husband relocates them around to different bases every couple of years? I divorced him so I could have better work credentials? Most companies would have a better understanding of (and respect for) their circumstances.
