I thought the series was a brilliant demonstration of the red pill.

You've got Lester - at the beginning, a classic bitch. His wife pesters him and calls him weak. He gets bitched around by the stronger Hess, who makes money and has a slammie wife.

But then Lester meets Lorne. Lorne is the dark triad. Figuratively, he is Satan, who always comes to take from those who owe him (reminded me a bit of Chigurh, as death, in No Country). As a character, Lorne charms everyone he doesn't need to kill. He doesn't care about the law. He does what he wants and always gets what he wants. And once Lester goes his way, Lester does too.

Lester just makes one deal with the devil too many. "Is this what you want, Lester?"

I've been looking for this! I just finished watched the series on dvr last week. I also thought it was a brilliant demonstration of the red pill and it was undeniable by the second episode.
