Summary: Field report on the power of the hamster

Body: I saw my Ex from a couple years ago on-line while I'm in my old stomping grounds. I invited her out for a couple drinks. Background we had an LDR/LTR which ended likely with her cheating although I don't know definitively Red flags were all there.

So I meet with her and she is literally dressed in the same clothes as the last time I saw her. Like down to the socks. I had an old photo I compared it to verify it. She is wearing the same perfume as when we were dating and she styled her hair the same.

This could be all random chance but logic tells me this is not. She sits beside me and her face literally goes agape when she walks in. Now I'm not really interested in advancing this however all the signs point that I could. I went in with the intention of catching up. We were acquaintances (no orbiter) prior to our relationship. She was my drug dealers GF to be blunt.

So she is making fuck me eyes and casual kino but not outright sexual. I'm not responding. She casually brings up tinder. I act like I don't know what it is. We have a couple drinks and when we leave to go to some co-ed rec volleyball game she is going to play. She gets frustrated in the car shit tests me about stuff in the past. I mostly deflect/ignore or joke it off. We split up after her team arrives, she hugs me etc. I go off to a drink with some buddies at a firepit.

In a moment of weakness I send her a cringe worthy beta test about how I still have feelings for her while drunk. I read this in the morning and realize what I have done. I call her when I know she is off work. Explain that I think we still have some chemistry which she agree with but I don't want to end up in another triangle with her.

2 weeks later I send her a message says Thanks for introducing me to tinder I have gotten 3 dates in 3 weeks this is great. She replies with a lol I introduced you to it. Good luck Glad your meeting people. I go silent for 2 weeks.

I get a random Facebook message from her at like 10:20 PM on a week night. She generally works pretty early so this is unusual behaviour. I scan it, it's about some words being pretentious. I Disagree and amplify. She shit tests. I follow up with a Agree and amplify to absurdity. She responds positively.

So I think it would be fun to play the extremes of the logic. So I send her a text the next day and arrange a time to call her. I deliberately call her later then I state by 5 minutes.

I open the call with Hey Sunshine and she is giggling like a school girl. Now if I wanted this could easily be turned into sex. However I'm more interested in the science here. So I confront her. I follow up with so you wanted my attention now you have it. What's going on? She plays aloof. We chest bump a bit. I call her out on all the past history to see what kind of reaction I get. I attack with logic she responds with irrational projection of emotions.

At the end of the call I drop. If your in (city) on (day). Give me a call I know your off work. She was a little riled up but not angry.

Now she is a religious Facebooker. Check in with everything. So This morning I see her check in driving towards my (city).

I send her a FB message which is pretty beta and apologetic and follow it with a I think I'm going to stop chasing women and dump tinder for a while while I go on a quest of self discovery.

Check in on facebook turns around.

I receive message about being pretentious and how it's clear we can't do anything as it will always be misconstrued when we see each other.

Hamstered in/Hamstered out.

Lesson Learned:

The Hamster is clearly always in control and can be set to run in any direction. While this was pretty manipulative it was educational to say the least.
