Why are false rape accusations a bigger deal than false murder or theft accusations?

They're a bigger deal to men because men are the primary victims of false rape accusations. Perhaps this is because they're largely ignored as a crime (and men as victims of them thanks to male disposability) because our society is very gynocentric. (hello feminine imperative!) This translates to false rape accusers rarely ever being punished, and when they are it's typically a slap on the wrist. It all boils down to the whopping amounts of pussy pass women enjoy, which is a form of female privilege.

False murder or theft require proof (someone has to be dead or someone needs to have something they shouldn't). It's hard to disprove you didn't rape someone without camera evidence. And, in today's feministic society, it's no longer innocent until proven guilty but the other way around. In rape, they will assume you raped her until you can prove otherwise.

"Fantasist" in that she made up seven other false sex attack allegations, "including one against her father, would otherwise have kept her identity secret for life. Taylor kept changing her name and moving, so police forces did not realise they were dealing with the same woman."

The consequences of a rape conviction are much worse than even a murder conviction. Sex offender registry will ruin a man's life.

The consequences of a false accusation are much lower for the rape accuser than for the murder accuser. Attempting to frame someone for murder is prosecuted as a serious crime. Attempting to frame someone for rape, well, he probably deserved it anyway.

The rate of false rape accusation is much higher than that of fake murder accusation. You're not likely to attempt to frame someone for murder unless you have a serious grievance or significant malice. False rape accusations can be triggered by remorse, peer pressure, or fear of shame/social consequences of consensual activity. Even if the percentage conviction rate is lower, the greater volume of accusations results in a higher count of innocents convicted.

False rape accusations have consequences to the accused even when there is no conviction. Social stigma, ostracism, loss of relationships and reputation, expulsion from colleges or jobs can all result even if the case never goes to trial, and with no due process or evidence of the crime. People are more willing to give the benefit of the doubt and remember "innocent until proven guilty" for an accused murderer than for an accused rapist.

Many more rape accusations are false than murder or theft accusations. Multiple reports show that between 25-50% of all rape accusations with the sample sets studied were demonstrably false.

Women can accuse men of rape whether they had intercourse or not, whether it was consensual or not.

Murder: there is a dead body. There is proof that SOMETHING happened. Theft: something is missing. Proof that SOMETHING happened. A lot of rape accusations are baseless, and NOTHING happened, but a man still gets the book for it.

This would probably be a better question for mensrights, they talk about it more there. Off the top of my head, in no order:
False rape accusations almost exclusively concern men and are not talked about in most contexts, therefore it is a natural subject that men's communities will drift toward.

Feminism has discouraged and insulted skepticism about a rape accusation, but this skepticism is essential to the due process of law.

There are legal accusations of rape and social accusations of rape, as well as formal extralegal accusations of rape. It is extremely hard to defend against a social accusation, the accused will become a pariah to many, even if the accusation is ridiculous. Formal extralegal situations can inflict incredible damage, like say a college panel that can expel the accused with very little to no proof.

There can be real or imagined benefits to the accuser/victim, moreso than the accusers of other crimes. People respond to incentives.

Rape is often redefined by feminists, some radfems will define all heterosexual sex as rape. Others will create bizarre and unnatural systems of having sex such as "Enthusiastic consent", in which the male is constantly and regularly asking for permission to continue rather than a more natural flow. Some believe that women can retroactively withdraw consent, turning a given consensual sex act into rape because of later regret.

In many countries, a great deal of alcohol is consumed in the courtship process. People will misidentify how intoxicated they are, let alone how intoxicated others are. Even if their BAC puts them into the acceptable range for driving, a person could still have lower inhibitions.

Theft and murder can have relatively clear physical evidence. Rape does not necessarily. A rape accusation could be any number of things: An accurate statement. An inaccurate statement regarding a consensual sex act. An accurate statement, but misidentifying the rapist. A flat out lie when no act occurred.

Using Canadian statistics, you'll find that the conviction rate of rape is no lower than other crimes, it is in fact nominally higher than other violent crimes. The way that you got the idea that conviction rates are lower is someone, somewhere compared all crimes to rape. You can't really compare drunk driving to rape because DUI is usually cut and dry (as with many other offences).
