The thing I learn from these threads is that many people view relationships as binary. Either you are in one, or you are not. Any relationship is, or should be, completely committed and monogamous. One date equals an exclusive relationship. They don't seem to see, or want to see, that "boyfriend" and "girlfriend" and "relationship" have many different meanings.
