Going out yesterday night after a longer time of nightlife abstinence, I realized that especially in the night life, anyone resembling an alpha gets challenged a lot, even if you don't go to Jersey Shore type of clubs where people fight on the regular.

Guys size you up, invade your space and maybe even bump into you, trying to figure out if you'll lose frame.

Girls try to stir up drama (i.e. grinding you or dancing really close to you while the guy she's with is really close to her) to figure out who's the biggest alpha, whose cock she might take that night.

Girls invading your space / trying to take your spot happens as well - probably a mix of entitlement, attention whoring and frame testing, which can sometimes also result in drama.

A new social hierarchy is temporarily established and if there are too many alpha'ish guys, bad things tend to happen.

A beta on the other hand won't have to deal with that and is basically ignored by anyone but girls looking to exit the cock carrousel (temporarily) for a beta bucks, if he has liquored up enough to get the courage to talk to them.

The bottom line: Being alpha ain't easy. Especially in the nightlife you'll get challenged all the time and guys in the lower socioeconomic strata might even pay with their life for it.
