Wait tables. Quick cash, no commitment, social environment, great way to meet interesting people (coworkers and customers alike, as well as other industry folk). The schedule should be flexible enough so that you can either look for better work or get a second job to pile up money.

I'm in the same situation, about to start college after taking a year off. I am broke and unemployed. It's hard but you just need to get a job right off the bat. It doesn't matter if it's min wage, just get to work. Don't bother with a social life until you get back on your feet. Going out is expensive and you'll go broke everytime you want something. Live frugally, save money, make connections, and once you can afford small stuff, set a budget for yourself of how much you can spend on social activites. Personally I spend a lot on cigars. I have to budget how much I will pay for gas, put toward bills, save an emergency fund, and then tell myself how much I can spend on my hobby. It will be hard at first but everything will work out, good luck.

I'm broke as fuk. I keep hearing from various sources that you can camwhore and make a shit-ton of money, but I don't know how.
