This was too good for me not to share, and in r/consipiracy of all places.

Discipline = Freedom

Freedom hinges upon discipline. Financial freedom comes about with financial freedom. Free time comes with time management. A free society is only maintained by the virtuous, the disciplined. Jocko Willink has a book about this.

Aristocracy is Restraint.

To be an aristocrat of the soul is to have self-restraint, in taste, in appetite, in everything. To become an aristocrat of society one must first become an aristocrat of the soul. To maintain this aristocracy across generations, this self-restraint must be passed down, lest the prosperity accumulated by generations previous be squandered by the licentiousness of poorly-schooled progeny. One of my own realizations.

Life is struggle; fight or die.

Your orientation to the world. Struggle and pain are endemic to the human experience. Do you live with honor, accepting that the world is difficult, and you must take this difficulty as the thing to be overcome, or do you renege upon your own life? A distillation of a quote by a man who stood against time and the degeneracy of the world.

I saw that same post and was wondering when someone would bring it over.

Something to add onto choosing your pain if I can find the link it's a Jordan Peterson video about the "Man-child" some may have seen it before, but it hit me completely hard as if I got ran over by a truck.
