Ok, so I just watched this movie for the first time the other night, and I think this may be one of the most red pill movies in existence. There are too many themes here to count, from the beta young brother who can't stop professing his love, to the young babysitter who wants the older stable father figure, to the hypergamous older sister, the cheating wife and her beta provider husband, and last but not least the ultimate alpha male, Jacob.
The story starts out with an over the hill beta provider husband being informed that his wife has cheated on him, and wants a divorce. The now ex-husband becomes exceedingly depressed and hangs out at a bar getting drunk and whining about his wife to anyone who will listen, including other women. Jacob notices him and decides to take the sad sack under his wing and help him regain his manhood.
Ignoring the last hour of the movie where things get all Hollywood mushy romance, I think there is a lot that guys can learn from the characters of the movie, especially Jacob. Watch his initial approach at the bar. Even though this girl turns him down, you can almost feel the moisture in the air. Even when being thrown multiple shit tests, he hurdles over them with ease. This is a perfect example of operating on the fly and saying the right things. Not only is he forward, but he's having fun. The girl's responses don't even matter, he's just playing with the conversation and taking it where he wants it to go.
Another one of my favorite scenes was when Jacob takes Cal shopping. Notice how towards the beginning of the scene, Jacob asks a question, and doesn't relent until he finally gets an answer. He also recognizes the hypergamy of women when he asks Cal if he's Steve Jobs, because only a millionaire could get away with wearing sneakers.
Although the movie ended on a soft note and kind of wrecked the whole first half, I think this movie is an excellent example of red pill behavior and you guys should check it out if you haven't already.
