The failure to have self-motivation can take your internal self and rip it apart. Part of you knows how good your life could be if you “got it together”. But another part of you wants to feel good right now.
You go back and forth between these personas and each one holds a different level of priority. Some parts of you desperately want to crush it at life, others sacrifice progress for instant gratification. Most people react to those who are motivated by placing them on a pedestal or else becoming resentful. Do neither. Become motivated YOURSELF.
Personas
“Spiritual”: The higher self-cares about the higher purpose of your short existence on this earth. “Day-to-day”: The middle self-cares about practical concerns. “Petty”: The lower self-cares about self-image and validation. Basically, these are moods. Unless you are are not human you will jump back and forth between them, there’s no escape. The closer you are to your petty self the more this ‘state’ will lead you to deter from the goals you have set for your purpose. If you have no purpose yet, Find It NOW. The idea I want you to pick up is that you must drive every ‘persona’ to be in the same lane, to move in the same direction as your spiritual, higher self.
Motives Of The Human Personas
Your higher self – To improve the ability to connect, absorb positive energy, become a better person to friends, offer value without return, being a role model, learning to be clear and free, learning lessons, gaining experiences and cultivating your path to mastery.
Your day to day self – Sex, sex is fun, cumming is fun; 3 some, eating food, paying rent, marketing, paying the phone bill.
Your lower self – Prove doubters wrong, rub things in people’s faces, seek validation and approval, succumb to the temptations of short-term gratification.
Now, for example, if someone tells you can’t do something, or you get fired, dumped, you will most likely enter the state of your lower self. Believe it or not, this isn’t necessarily negative. Many people start fitness after a breakup, so in these cases, it can be good. It is a good starting point. The problem is that once you do prove that person wrong, or you so show your girlfriend up, it’s done, finito, that motivation fizzles into dust. Good in the short term, bad for the long term.
The same can be said for day to day self, it is only really about you, it is more about the requirements you need to survive so your primal self can be satisfied and comfortable. The entire spectrum changes dramatically when you look at the higher self, the spiritual self. This is the turning point where the focus is switched from yourself to others.
Your sense of identity is not just tied up in you but in everything you see around you. You see we are all selfish and self-indulgent to a certain extent and being in that higher state is a form of breaking out of this self-indulgence. Rather than being a reflection of your environment this state concerns itself with your environment being a reflection of you.
An example of this could be writing this very article. I have broken out of the states of lower motives and am experiencing one that provides value to others, to you, the audience. But at the same time, it fulfills me.
Action
1 Petty goals: Spurt of energy, runs out of steam soon as ego is satisfied.
2 Day to day: Pushes you to establish normalcy, but once you have accomplished the day to day state by eating, fucking and paying your bills, it can be hard to push to the higher self, because what else do you need really need?
3 Higher self: Most long-term and powerful, however, it can distract you from the importance of day to day concerns.
4 Outcome: Use Meditation and pick a clear goal.
5 Purpose: Figure out every possible reason why you should get it done. Think of every secondary or third or fourth chain reaction it could cause and the value it will create and provide.
6 Action: Determine exactly what you need to do every day to win. Understand that you cannot escape your petty self or your day to day state. However, it is what you do with these lesser states which are crucial to whether you will be on a journey of progression rather than degeneration.
7 Sustainability: Sustainability in this instance means to go back and forth or leap frog from motive to motive by walking a journey that causes your brain to trigger. What I mean by this is that you must figure out what you want from life and why. Then like a frog you hop from motivation to motivation just as a frog does with lily pads, OK I know it sounds silly but hear me out.
Motivation is kind of like a blessing. Basically, you go through life on your journey and different things will come up that motivate you. It will become renewed at times and at other times fade away. Almost like a flame on a candle, think of it like a candle. If there is enough oxygen left, the candle will remain lit. Just enough so that when you are ready the flame can burn heavily and give off light.
In conclusion. Your purpose is your oxygen, use it to breathe.
