Last night, a friend of mine threw a house party just for our school and the turnout was simply far too much for a house of its size to handle; students from another local school showed up, but we let them in because we were all there to just have a good time.
Around 2 AM, we told everyone that the party was over and that it was time to go since things began to get out of hand. While escorting people out, I noticed a girl promising my friend (who was drunk and getting with a girl; distracted) that she had brought the handle of Smirnoff that she had in her hand. I went out and stuck close to her to see what was up. As I enter the group, a girl behind me brings out a bottle of Captain Morgan and starts talking about how she just stole it and the Smirnoff girl starts bragging about how she lied to my friend, not knowing I was there to reclaim it.
I start asking for the handles back and the stories changes half a dozen times:
- "I didn't steal this, I brought it."
- "I have no idea who this guy is, why would I just steal it?"
- "Look, things even out if you just take the Captain back and I still have the Smirnoff!"
The worst part of it all was that a girl from our school that we treat well (she can spend the night, have a nice bed, as much alcohol as she wants, etc.) since she supplies when we need her to is defending the Smirnoff girl the most vocally of the crowd. Telling me to back off since "she brought her the Smirnoff," even though they had just met an hour prior. Ultimately, spooked by the neighbors' lights coming on, I take the Captain back inside and am forced to let them leave.
The morning after, I confront the girl from our school who assisted the theft and am met with quite possibly the most hamster-y response possible:
Me: "Thanks for helping defend that girl while she stole the Smirnoff."
Her: "What the fuck is your problem"
Oh boy.
Some highlights from our exchange:
- Is was like a quarter of a bottle it wasn't worth making scene over-- It was actually three-quarters; nice try.
- I didn't take shit anyways I brought my own bottle so this has nothing to do with me-- I'm sure you didn't just assist a theft.
- This makes no sense why you're trying to argue with me about this the day after this happened so fuck off-- This happened 10 hours earlier; 2 AM isn't exactly an ideal time to articulate an argument (nor would I have been able to to the fullest extent of my ability).
- I have all the liquor that she took because I made her give it to me so clearly you don't even know what you're talking about-- So you decided to argue with me instead of telling me this and saving me half an hour on my phone; makes sense.
In the end, she returned half a bottle to my friend after he called her out on her bullshit when she texted him to apologize (read: do damage control), which I laughed at because her story said that there was only a quarter in it which completely discredits her considering the circumstances. Needless to say, she is still hamstering and still trying to maintain that she's not at fault for anything.
tl;dr: Women are hamster-y as fuck and will disregard any kindness you have shown them at a moment's notice for another of their kind.
