This is my first post here, so I'm sorry if it doesn't fit guidelines, and feel free to delete it if this is the case.

In the past 18 months, I've met and befriended several people from the Philippines on Facebook. It started with one and snowballed as she introduced me to her cousin who introduced me to his friends and so on. I've noticed many things, but one that's stood out is how talkative and energetic Filipina girls are. Not to say all, of course, but certainly most I've met.

I can be a chatty person at times as well, but normally I have a topic that I'm rambling about. On the other hand, it seems most of these girls I've met, aged 15-18, just talk to talk, or to burn off a 5 Hour Energy for all I know.

Now that I've wasted two paragraphs on explanations, I'll get to what I want a response on. I was having a lighthearted discussion with this girl I've become close to, brother sister like, and I said I'd be back, I had to take a shower. I return 35 minutes later. I say "Alright, I'm back." and she starts interrogating me about why I showered so quickly. Personally, no one I know spends more than 45 minutes showering, and not many I know smell like shit or appear generally unclean.

I've not been in the best of moods recently, so perhaps I'm simply overreacting, however, once I explain that I never spend more than 40 minutes in the shower, she starts making what I assume are jokes about how I must be afraid of water. I actually quite enjoy showers, swimming, water is lit as fuck, I just don't like wasting my time doing anything, therefor I don't take long doing much. I explain this, but she persists.

She keeps on with the idea that I don't enjoy water, I'm afraid of it or something along those lines. She says "But how can it be so quick?" (Excuse her English) and I tell her that with hair as short as mine it doesn't take a long time to wash my body and hair. She responds by saying of course it doesn't if you don't wash yourself well. This teasing, if you call it that, I'm not sure what I call it, continued for around 15 minutes before I eventually just told her she was being rude and overly intrusive, at which point she backed off, still seeming amused.

I suppose my question is, do I have a right to feel so annoyed with her? And why does it only seem to be teenage girls that go on these mini rambles which resemble a major sugar rush. I can't overstate how irritated I was by the time I convinced her to lay off, and she never seemed to get it. I know the language barrier undoubtedly played a part, and because of that I'm trying to cut her some slack, yet in the back of my head all I can think is "Don't you fucking get it?"

Would you say I'm overreacting? (It's not like me to be this annoyed) and have you ever encountered a woman behaving like this, if so do you know what drives it?
