Be direct. Say what you want. If that means "hey, you looked cool so I had to approach you." Or just start talking whatever interesting story you have. 7 is nothing. Try 20.

And the most important thing is to minimize the time between approaches. That way you will get momentum and after few rejections, your ego will crash and 'let go'. That's when you become outcome free.

I can't vouch for this one personally but a touristy friend of mine pulled off this one several times:

"Hey, do you know how I can get to xyz?"

"Yeah, go to abc, take a turn blabla."

"Cool, write down your number here so I can call you if I don't find it."

At this point she should be laughing.

Could be optimized, only works for tourists tho :p Or somebody who can fake an accent.
