My favorite character personality on TV is early seasons Don Draper. The authoritative posturing, the calm, clear-headedness, the smooth delivery of everything he said, etc. In my opinion he looks like a good persona to aspire to be like if you should find it fitting for yourself. Now I'm not just going around impersonating him, mind you, I'm just taking some of the better behavioral cues.

The reason that this comes up is because after learning to assert myself better, getting into better shape, developing a better sense of style, and putting less emotional investment into girls, I'm attracting way more women of all types, which was great at first. I finally settled into a way of acting that really fit me at both work and outside the office, women loved me, I had a great place, good friends, etc. The problem that reared its ugly head was that a lot of obnoxious feminist types really began to like me. A lot.

They are usually really vocally opinionated and they tell me about rape culture, the wage gap, and various other bullshit that they learned from their women's studies professors, SRS, or Tumblr. I am pretty good at keeping my calm around these types because of the way I feel like I've matured over the recent past, but I usually end up just tuning them out and nodding along with a smile on my face. I know it's conventional wisdom to do this, but I just really want to tell them to stop talking or at the very least talk about something else. Anything else. Seriously, I would take a conversation about reality TV over being preached to about feminism, and I can't stand reality TV. It just beats having to correct some chick for having naive opinions IMHO.

I've been putting up with it because it's usually pre-wall 21 or 22 year olds that are still just figuring shit out, but if there was some sort of easy way to steer the conversation in other directions, that would help. I try, but it's usually a somewhat belabored ordeal. I definitely don't want to engage in an argument with a woman because it's a bad look and I'd rather keep my cool, but yeah.
