I think downloading and reading the handbook should be mandatory for all subscribers. I'm not sure how the infrastructure on reddit is, but I have an idea to enforce it.

In order to post, you must be subscribed.

In order to post you must have read the handbook.

Well how do we know if people read the handbook?

We can make the handbook a downloadable program. It will track how long a person has been on a certain page and will not let the person go ahead before being on a page for a certain amount of time.

When a user tries to submit a post, there are several things that can be done to verify that the user has read the handbook.

  1. Add unique keywords to the last page of a chapter and ask the user to enter the keyword from a chapter within the handbook
  1. Ask about something the handbook covers and ask the user a question about it
  1. If we want to get fancy about it, and if reddit allows it, link the program with the sub. This way is easier because you will know exactly how far a user has gotten and can either allow or disallow them from posting.
